The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 16:11: "You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Let us pray. Awesome God, our life is always in Your hands. Today as we begin another day of work and service to the people of South Carolina, guide us by Your presence to do and say what is right and pleasing to You. Help us to be mindful of others as we work together. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker and all who labor in government and private enterprise. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us at home and abroad. In the name of our Lord. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
