The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 15:1: "O Lord, who may abide in your tent? Who may dwell on your holy hill?"
Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we give You thanks for the duties and responsibilities of the past week. Continue to be with each of these, Your people, as they go about the affairs of the weekend and protect them from all harm. Give them relaxation and a new spirit as they are renewed in relationships and activities. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker and all who labor in government and private enterprises. Protect our defenders of freedom as they protect us at home and abroad. In the name of our Lord. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
