The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 36:9: "In your light we see light."
Let us pray. Dear Lord, we thank You for Your light which helps us to see the light in the lives of other people. Often we need others to help us see things in a new way. Help us to always remain faithful to You and with those whom we work and live. Give us a refreshing weekend and strength for the new week. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, this Honorable Assembly, and all who serve in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. In the Name of our Lord, we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
