The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Ezekiel 37:5: "Thus says the Lord God to these bones: I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live."
Let us pray. Breathe on us, God, with Your spirit of hope. Help us to weave our way through the maze of daily challenges when problems threaten to overwhelm and paralyze us. We need Your help to breathe life anew into us each day. Give us a renewed spirit through the restfulness of the weekend and renew us for continued service. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, this Honorable Assembly, and all who serve in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear us as we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
