A SENATE RESOLUTION

CONGRATULATING FRED STROBLE ON HIS RETIREMENT AND THANKING HIM FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE TO THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, Fred Stroble is a forty-six year veteran of law enforcement and has served the United States District Court throughout the United States for thirty-six years; and

Whereas, Mr. Stroble has served as a United States Deputy Marshal, a Federal Court Security Officer, a Charleston County Deputy Sheriff, and has served as a police officer and detective for the Charleston City Police Department; and

Whereas, he has served on special assignments in every state in the United States, was assigned to the Watergate trial, and was one of four hundred United States Marshals sent to Boston during school desegregation; and

Whereas, Mr. Stroble was awarded the Carter G. Wilson Award for Outstanding Community Person by the Association for Study of African American Life and History, was awarded the Phillip Randolph Award for Outstanding Lawman by the late president of the A. Phillip Randolph Association, Isaiah Bennett, and has received United States Attorney General Awards for Special Achievement numerous times; and

Whereas, Mr. Stroble graduated from the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy-Burglary School, the South Carolina FBI Fingerprint School, the United States Marshal Academy, and other law enforcement schools; and

Whereas, he has served on the Jenkins Orphanage Board of Trustees and the Charleston Southern University Criminal Justice Board; and

Whereas, Fred Stroble is married to Dr. Barbara Stroble, and they have three daughters. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Fred Stroble on his retirement, thank him for his many years of law enforcement service to the United States of America and the State of South Carolina, and wish him well in all of his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Mr. Fred Stroble.
