A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND THE HONORABLE JUDITH K. SPOONER, OF BERKELEY COUNTY, FOR HER OUTSTANDING AND DEDICATED SERVICE AS A MEMBER OF BERKELEY COUNTY COUNCIL, AND TO WISH HER THE VERY BEST IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are saddened that Berkeley County Councilmember Judith K. Spooner will not be returning as a member of Berkeley County Council; and

Whereas, seldom has a member of Berkeley County Council worked as hard for her District, County, and State as has Judith Spooner since she first became a member of Council in January 1981; and

Whereas, she has been an effective voice as chairman of many committees, among them the Rural, Residential and Industrial Land Use; Environmental Affairs; Planning and Development; Finance; Human Services; Land Use; Water and Sanitation; and Community Services committees; and

Whereas, during her twenty-six year tenure on Berkeley County Council, Judith K. Spooner served as Treasurer of Berkeley Charleston Dorchester Council of Government, Vice President of the County Council Coalition, and First Vice President of the South Carolina Republican Party; and

Whereas, the performance of her duties and responsibilities has been characterized by excellent and instructive contributions to County Government, all of which have aided her colleagues in analyzing and understanding complex matters as they came before the many committees and boards she served; and

Whereas, her advice and counsel always will be appreciated by Berkeley County staff, especially her many friends on Berkeley County Council. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, commend the Honorable Judith K. Spooner, of Berkeley County, for her outstanding and dedicated service as a member of Berkeley County Council, and wish her the very best in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the Honorable Judith K. Spooner.
