TO CONGRATULATE THE DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL FIGHTING CAVALIERS COMPETITION CHEER TEAM FOR ITS IMPRESSIVE WIN OF THE REGION II-AAAA COMPETITIVE CHEER STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO HONOR THE CHEERLEADERS AND THEIR COACH, KAMI APPLETON, ON AN EXCEPTIONAL SEASON.
Whereas, excellence in cheerleading demands individual strength, agility, and skill, as well as the ability to inspire crowds to support their respective teams; and
Whereas, using those talents and attributes, Coach Kami Appleton and the members of the Dorman High School Competition Cheer Team capped an outstanding season by winning the 2006 Region II-AAAA Competitive Cheer State Championship; and
Whereas, the team advanced to the state finals after winning the Upper State Championship title at White Knoll High School on November 6, 2006; and
Whereas, defeating fierce competitors to take the top spot, the Dorman Competitive Cheer Team stayed calm and focused throughout intense rounds of competition; and
Whereas, throughout the season the team showed great confidence, attributable to Coach Kami Appleton, whose time and energy spent encouraging her team to perform to their individual and collective abilities necessarily led to their successes; and
Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives take great pride in commending the young women of Dorman High School for their tireless efforts and great determination in an outstanding season and recognize them for this wonderful accomplishment. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the Dorman High School Fighting Cavaliers Competition Cheer Team for its impressive win of the Region II-AAAA Competitive Cheer State Championship, and honor the cheerleaders and their coach, Kami Appleton, on an exceptional season.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to the cheerleaders, coaches, and school officials of the Dorman High School Competition Cheer Team.
