TO HONOR AND RECOGNIZE THE SILVER BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL NAVY JUNIOR RESERVE OFFICER TRAINING CORPS FOR ITS OUTSTANDING WIN OF THE 2007 NJROTC STATE DRILL CHAMPIONSHIP, AND TO WISH THE TEAM MEMBERS AND THEIR INSTRUCTORS ALL THE BEST IN FUTURE COMPETITION.
Whereas, the Silver Bluff High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) captured the 2007 NJROTC State Drill Championship; and
Whereas, honor, courage, and commitment join with superlative showmanship in the NJROTC, the latter demanding great strength, diligence, and follow-through; and
Whereas, displaying all these traits, the members of the Silver Bluff NJROTC drill team showed both fans and foes alike that this team, which dominated the state competition held at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, was a force to be reckoned with; and
Whereas, this dynamic championship team was composed of Drill Team Commander Jeb Lindsay and members Josh Martin, Kevin Flowers, Michael Adams, Lee Hepner, Arik Furner, Bruce Boettjer, Josh Drake, Ryan Hall, William Key, Dion Doe, James Ray, Stephen Mitchell, Jeremy Cadiente, and Randy Nine; and
Whereas, instructors LCDR Ron Freeman and Chief Charles Neighbors, with grueling practices, hard work, and determination, built their drill program into a championship team; and
Whereas, it is with great pride that the members of the House of Representatives, expecting to hear of further success in years to come, recognize the young people of the Silver Bluff NJROTC drill team for their exceptional discipline and winning showmanship. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, honor and recognize the Silver Bluff High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps for its outstanding win of the 2007 NJROTC State Drill Championship, and wish the team members and their instructors all the best in future competition.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the principal of Silver Bluff High School, J. Todd Bornscheuer, and LCDR Ron Freeman and Chief Charles Neighbors, instructors.
