A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE THE MEMBERS OF THE LAMAR HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS TRACK TEAM AND THEIR COACHES FOR WINNING THE 2007 STATE CLASS A GIRLS TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are pleased to learn that the Lamar High School Girls track team won the 2007 State Class A Girls Track Championship on May 5, 2007; and

Whereas, led by Head Coach Marshall King, the Lady Silver Foxes captured their second state title in four years; and

Whereas, they also won their second lower state title, as well as their thirteenth straight region championship; and

Whereas, the Lady Silver Foxes compiled a record of twelve wins and one loss, going undefeated in their regular season schedule; and

Whereas, the Lady Silver Foxes return a number of underclassmen next year and will be a strong contender for the state championship for many years to come; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, would like to publicly recognize and congratulate this talented group of young women and their fine coaches for achieving this truly deserved accomplishment. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, congratulate the members of the Lamar High School girls track team and their coaches for winning the 2007 State Class A Girls Track Championship.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Head Coach Marshall King of the Lamar High School Girls Track Team.
