A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND MRS. MARY LOUISE PARHAM, DILLON COUNTY TREASURER, FOR HER OUTSTANDING SERVICE UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly note that, after twenty-four years of service, Mrs. Mary Louise Parham is retiring from the position of Dillon County treasurer; and

Whereas, having already been a part of Dillon County government since May 1967, Mrs. Parham began her duties as Dillon County treasurer in 1983; and

Whereas, during her tenure, she has been of invaluable assistance in her work with professional and community organizations such as the South Carolina Association of Auditors, Treasurers, & Tax Collectors (SCATT), where she served as president in 1999 and received the L.H. "Sonny" Siau Award. Recently, she was given a lifetime honorary membership in SCATT; and

Whereas, a member of the American Legion and Dillon Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Parham has also worked with the City of Dillon on their development and research to establish the historical district, and she plays an active role in nominating young girls to Palmetto Girls State; and

Whereas, with much appreciation for her many years of dedicated service as Dillon County treasurer, the General Assembly takes great pleasure in joining with her family and friends in wishing Mrs. Parham much enjoyment of the more leisurely days ahead as she begins her retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, commend Mrs. Mary Louise Parham, Dillon County treasurer, for her outstanding service upon the occasion of her retirement, and wish her much success and happiness in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Mrs. Mary Louise Parham.
