A BILL

TO AMEND SECTION 7-7-290, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO THE DESIGNATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS IN GREENWOOD COUNTY, SO AS TO REVISE AND ADD CERTAIN VOTING PRECINCTS OF GREENWOOD COUNTY AND REDESIGNATE A MAP NUMBER FOR THE MAP ON WHICH LINES OF THESE PRECINCTS ARE DELINEATED AND MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF RESEARCH AND STATISTICS OF THE STATE BUDGET AND CONTROL BOARD.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Section 7-7-290 of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 70 of 2005, is further amended to read:

"Section 7-7-290.    (A)    In Greenwood County there are the following voting precincts:

1-Greenwood No. 1

2-Greenwood No. 2

3-Greenwood No. 3

4-Greenwood No. 4

5-Greenwood No. 5

6-Greenwood No. 6

7-Greenwood No. 7

8-Greenwood No. 8

9-Glendale

10-Harris

11-Laco

12-Ninety Six

13-Ninety Six Mill

14-Ware Shoals

15-Hodges

16-Cokesbury

17-Coronaca

18-Greenwood High

19-Georgetown

20-Sandridge

21-Callison

22-Bradley

23-Troy

24-Epworth

25-Verdery

26-New Market

27-Emerald

28-Airport

29-Emerald High

30-Civic Center

31-Riley

32-Shoals Junction

33-Greenwood Mill

34-Stonewood

35-Merrywood

36-Lower Lake

37-Pinecrest

(B)    The precinct lines defining the precincts are as shown on the official map P-47-05 P-47-07 on file with the Office of Research and Statistics of the State Budget and Control Board and as shown on copies provided to the Greenwood Board of Voter Registration. The official map may not be changed except by act of the General Assembly.

(C)    The Greenwood County Election Commission shall designate the polling places of each precinct."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
