The Senate assembled at 11:00 A.M., the hour to which it stood adjourned, and was called to order by the ACTING PRESIDENT, Senator PATTERSON.

THIRD READING BILL

The following Bill was read the third time and ordered sent to the House of Representatives:

S. 1050 (Word version) -- Senators Verdin and Ryberg: A BILL TO AMEND CHAPTER 3, TITLE 56 OF THE 1976 CODE, TO PROVIDE THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES MAY ISSUE OPERATION DESERT STORM-DESERT SHIELD VETERANS LICENSE PLATES, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM VETERANS LICENSE PLATES, AND OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM VETERANS LICENSE PLATES.

By prior motion of Senator RYBERG, with unanimous consent

MOTION ADOPTED

On motion of Senator McCONNELL, with unanimous consent, the Senate stood adjourned out of respect to the memory of Mrs. Gladys Kyzer, 88, of West Columbia, S.C., beloved mother of Rebecca Gunter, Administrative Assistant to Senator McConnell. Mrs. Kyzer passed away on November 20, 2007. Mrs. Kyzer, widow of Mr. J. P. Kyzer, was graduated from Brookland Cayce High School and had three children, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was an excellent seamstress and had retired in a supervisory position from Capital City Manufacturing Company. She was a member of Congaree Baptist Church and a lifelong resident of South Carolina. She was loved, respected and admired by all those who knew her and she will be missed by family and friends alike.

ADJOURNMENT

At 11:10 A.M., on motion of Senator CROMER, the Senate adjourned to meet next Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 12:00 Noon.
