A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NAME THE PORTION OF PINEVIEW ROAD IN RICHLAND COUNTY FROM ITS INTERSECTION WITH SOUTH CAROLINA HIGHWAY 48 TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH UNITED STATES HIGHWAY 76/378 "JULIUS MURRAY HIGHWAY" AND ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS ALONG THIS HIGHWAY THAT CONTAIN THE WORDS "JULIUS MURRAY HIGHWAY".

Whereas, the Honorable Julius Murray was born on March 23, 1938, the son of Dozier and Sallie Murray; and

Whereas, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College of Missouri; and

Whereas, from 1979 to 1983, he served the citizens of South Carolina House District Number 70 with distinction as a member of the South Carolina General Assembly; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper to recognize the many accomplishments of our former colleague by naming a portion of Pineview Road in Richland County in his honor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:
