TO CONGRATULATE THOMAS K. "TOM" HARDY, PALMETTO BANK EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, REGIONAL EXECUTIVE, LAURENS COUNTY, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RECENT RETIREMENT, TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE COMMUNITY, AND TO WISH HIM MUCH HAPPINESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the South Carolina House of Representatives honors those individuals who give tirelessly of themselves to the welfare of this great State's citizenry; and
Whereas, Thomas K. "Tom" Hardy, recently retired Palmetto Bank executive vice president, regional executive, Laurens County, stands among their number as an outstanding public benefactor, one much admired in his role as both banking professional and community volunteer; and
Whereas, in preparation for his life's work, Tom Hardy graduated from Lander College, the Graduate School of Retail Bank Management at the University of Virginia, South Carolina Bankers School, National Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma, and Leadership Laurens County Class III; and
Whereas, until his retirement on December 31, 2009, he held various management positions with Palmetto Bank, serving with distinction from 1977 to the present, most recently as executive vice president, regional executive, Laurens County; and
Whereas, among his many leadership roles in community organizations are service as chairman of the Laurens Commission of Public Works; board member for the Laurens Chamber of Commerce, Laurens County Development Corporation, and Laurens First; and member of the Presbyterian College Board of Visitors; and
Whereas, in addition, he is past chairman of United Way--Commercial Division and former member of the Kiwanis Club and Palmetto Investment Club; and
Whereas, having made his mark and set the bar of achievement extraordinarily high in his profession, Tom Hardy will be remembered with affection and gratitude by colleagues and legislative friends for years to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Thomas K. "Tom" Hardy, Palmetto Bank executive vice president, regional executive, Laurens County, upon the occasion of his recent retirement, commend him for his many years of dedicated service to the community, and wish him much happiness and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Thomas K. "Tom" Hardy.
