A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO EXPRESS THE PROFOUND SORROW OF THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA GENERAL ASSEMBLY UPON THE PASSING OF CAROLYN DORITY BEASLEY OF BISHOPVILLE, AND TO EXTEND THE DEEPEST SYMPATHY TO HER FAMILY AND MANY FRIENDS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Carolyn Dority Beasley of Bishopville on February 17, 2010, at the venerable age of eighty; and

Whereas, a native of Bishopville, Carolyn Dority Beasley was the daughter of William and Eva Dority; and

Whereas, she served her God as a member of Faith Baptist Church, enjoyed avid gardening, and won celebration as a marvelous cook; and

Whereas, preceded in death by her beloved husband, Elton Beasley, Jr., she leaves to cherish her memory daughters Patricia Latimer and Linda Polandi; sons Jimmy, Kenneth, and Jerry Beasley; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, express their profound sorrow upon the passing of Carolyn Dority Beasley of Bishopville, and extend the deepest sympathy to her family and many friends.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Jimmy Beasley for the family.
