TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE HEMINGWAY HIGH SCHOOL BOYS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR CAPTURING THE 2010 CLASS A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE, AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF.
Whereas, fully ready for the challenge, the Hemingway High School boys basketball team crowned a splendid season by capturing the 2010 Class A State Championship title, defeating Great Falls 66-58 at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia on Saturday, March 6, 2010; and
Whereas, jubilant Hemingway High fans cheered their excitement as the Tigers nailed the title for the school, its first boys basketball state championship win since the early part of the decade; and
Whereas, the championship game demonstrated the Tigers' top-drawer strength, agility, and skill, as well as finely honed team effort and good sportsmanship; and
Whereas, using these talents and attributes, the team, under the capable leadership of Coach Barry McFadden, showed fans and foes alike that Hemingway's victory was no accident; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives takes great pleasure in recognizing the young men of the Hemingway High School boys basketball team for leading with excellence both in the classroom and on the hardwood and expects to hear of continued great achievements in the years ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
