A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE LAUREN CABANISS ON WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA JUNIOR MISS COMPETITION AND BEING CHOSEN AS SOUTH CAROLINA'S REPRESENTATIVE IN THE MISS DANCE AMERICA COMPETITION, AND TO WISH HER MUCH SUCCESS AS SHE REPRESENTS SOUTH CAROLINA AT THE NATIONAL LEVEL FOR THE TITLES OF AMERICA'S JUNIOR MISS AND MISS DANCE AMERICA.

Whereas, Lauren Cabaniss has been selected as South Carolina's Junior Miss, taking top honors in the prestigious scholarship competition that awards young women who have distinguished themselves in scholastics and community involvement; and

Whereas, Lauren will travel to Mobile, Alabama in June where she will be judged in interview, talent, scholastic, self-expression, and fitness categories, competing with young women from across the country for a $150,000 scholarship; and

Whereas, Lauren will be representing South Carolina at the Miss Dance America competition in Washington, D.C., where she will compete with young dancers from more than thirty United States chapters of Dance Masters of America; and

Whereas, Dance Masters of America recognizes the hard work and dedication of individuals like Lauren, who pursue technical and artistic greatness in the art of dance; and

Whereas, the Senate is proud to have such an extraordinarily bright and talented young woman representing the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the South Carolina Senate congratulates Lauren Cabaniss on winning the South Carolina Junior Miss Competition and being chosen as South Carolina's representative in the Miss Dance America Competition, and wishes her much success as she represents South Carolina at the national level for the titles of America's Junior Miss and Miss Dance America.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Lauren Cabaniss.
