The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Psalm 31:5: "Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O Lord, the God of truth."
Let us pray. We give thanks to You, Almighty God, for the care and blessings You have so graciously given to us. Continue to hold us in Your hands and give us rest and renewal for continued service to the people of this State. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom at home and abroad as they protect us. Hear us, O Lord, as we pray. Amen.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER ordered it confirmed.
