TO RECOGNIZE AND COMMEND THE PINEWOOD PREPARATORY SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM FOR CAPTURING ITS FIRST BASEBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP AND TO HONOR THE TEAM'S EXCEPTIONAL PLAYERS, COACHES, AND STAFF.
Whereas, Pinewood Preparatory School's Baseball Team of Summerville, South Carolina, defeated Northwood Academy, 5-3, in Game 3 of the SCISA Class AAA state baseball championship at Collins Park in North Charleston on Thursday, May 14, 2009; and
Whereas, the team was led to win their first state championship by Head Coach Evan Powell; and
Whereas, the team has brought great pride and recognition to their school and community, and the Senate is pleased to have this opportunity to recognize such a wonderful group of young men and commend them on their efforts throughout the season culminating in this ultimate victory. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, recognizes and commends the Pinewood Preparatory School Baseball Team for capturing its first baseball State Championship and to honor the team's exceptional players, coaches, and staff.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Pinewood Preparatory School.
