TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR CARLOS GALARZA OF OCONEE COUNTY, STAFF WRITER FOR THE JOURNAL NEWSPAPER IN SENECA, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate have learned that Carlos Galarza will begin a much-deserved retirement after seven years of dedicated service as a staff reporter for the Journal newspaper, located in Seneca; and
Whereas, known for his focused, skillfully written coverage of all areas of Oconee County government, he has earned the respect of both his colleagues and the community for his fair coverage of local government issues; and
Whereas, Carlos Galarza is well liked for his easy-going personality, but those who have worked with him will attest that this does not mean he takes his job lightly. He is a true investigative reporter with a distinct advantage: His affability often puts his interviewees so at ease that they speak much more freely than they had anticipated. In so doing, they give him the information he must have to tell Journal readers the true story; and
Whereas, the Senate, grateful for the consistent commitment and excellence Carlos Galarza has demonstrated in his service to the people of Oconee County, takes great pleasure in wishing him well as he enters retirement and trusts he will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Carlos Galarza of Oconee County, staff writer for the Journal newspaper in Seneca, upon the occasion of his retirement, and wish him continued success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Carlos Galarza.
