A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED ON JANUARY 10, 11, AND 12, 2011, BY THE STUDENTS OF DILLON SCHOOL DISTRICTS 1, 2, AND 3 OF DILLON COUNTY WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO SNOW ARE EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO SNOW, EXTREME WEATHER, OR OTHER DISRUPTIONS BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-425(C) of the 1976 Code, the requirement that the school days missed on January 10, 11, and 12, 2011, by the students of Dillon School Districts 1, 2, and 3 of Dillon County when the schools were closed due to snow are waived from the make-up requirement that full school days missed due to snow, extreme weather, or other disruptions be made up.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
