A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 50-9-750 SO AS TO PROVIDE THAT CERTAIN STUDENTS ENROLLED IN A HIGH SCHOOL OR AN INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING ARE NOT REQUIRED TO OBTAIN A HUNTING OR FISHING LICENSE.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Article 7, Chapter 9, Title 50 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 50-9-750.        A student who is at least sixteen years of age and less than twenty-two years of age who is enrolled in and in good standing with a high school or an institution of higher learning in this State or another state is not required to obtain a hunting or fishing license. A student who is entitled to this exemption must provide documentation the department considers necessary to verify enrollment status."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
