A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MR. JAMES M. MILES ON HIS NEW PRIVATE SECTOR ENDEAVORS AND TO THANK HIM FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED AND EXEMPLARY SERVICE TO THE PEOPLE OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the many years of public service Jim Miles has provided the people of South Carolina; and

Whereas, he has served with distinction in the constitutional office of Secretary of State, where he made numerous innovations which made the office more efficient and responsive to taxpayers; and

Whereas, he has twice served as Chief of Staff to the Honorable André Bauer, Lieutenant Governor of the State of South Carolina; and

Whereas, as Chief of Staff he led efforts to increase the efficiency of, and expand the delivery of services to, senior citizens in South Carolina. He spearheaded many efforts which have drastically improved the quality of life for countless seniors across this State; and

Whereas, Jim Miles is universally regarded as a Christian gentleman worthy of friendship and admiration. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Mr. Jim Miles on his new career and wish him well.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Mr. James M. Miles.
