TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR JAMES R. FRAZIER FOR MORE THAN THIRTY YEARS OF FAITHFUL SERVICE ON THE HORRY COUNTY COUNCIL, AND TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS DEDICATION AND LEADERSHIP ON BEHALF OF THE CITIZENS IN HIS COMMUNITY.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to note that James R. Frazier has served the people of Horry County on the Horry County Council continuously since 1979; and
Whereas, during more than three decades of service on the Horry County Council, he has held the position of Council Vice Chairman and served as chairman of numerous committees; and
Whereas, Mr. Frazier was instrumental in the establishment of the Bucksport Community Center, which was renamed the James R. Frazier Community Center in his honor in 2008; and
Whereas, devoted to his community, he serves as chairman of the board of directors of the Waccamaw Regional Planning Council and was a founding member of the Bucksport Water System; and
Whereas, James Frazier served as chairman of the Horry County Democratic Party and was a commissioner on the South Carolina Agriculture Commission; and
Whereas, he currently serves on the advisory board for BB&T Bank; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the dedication and faithful service that James R. Frazier has given to Horry County and for the significant contributions he has made to the citizens of his community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor James R. Frazier for more than thirty years of faithful service on the Horry County Council, and commend him for his dedication and leadership on behalf of the citizens in his community.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to James R. Frazier.
