A JOINT RESOLUTION

TO PROVIDE THAT THE SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DURING THE PERIOD OF JANUARY 10, 2011 THROUGH JANUARY 14, 2011, BY THE STUDENTS OF ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT OF THIS STATE WHEN THE SCHOOLS WERE CLOSED DUE TO SNOW OR INCLEMENT WEATHER ARE EXEMPT FROM THE MAKE-UP REQUIREMENT THAT FULL SCHOOL DAYS MISSED DUE TO SNOW, EXTREME WEATHER, OR OTHER DISRUPTIONS BE MADE UP.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Pursuant to the provisions of Section 59-1-425(C) of the 1976 Code, the school days missed during the period of January 10, 2011 through January 14, 2011, by the students of any school district of this State when the schools were closed due to snow or inclement weather are waived from the make-up requirement that full school days missed due to snow, extreme weather, or other disruptions be made up.

SECTION    2.    This joint resolution takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
