A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO FIX NOON ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 25, 2011, AS THE TIME TO ELECT A SUCCESSOR TO A CERTAIN JUDGE OF THE FAMILY COURT FOR THE FOURTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT, SEAT 2, TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM THAT EXPIRES JUNE 30, 2013, AND THE SUBSEQUENT FULL TERM THAT EXPIRES JUNE 30, 2019; TO ELECT A SUCCESSOR TO A CERTAIN JUDGE OF THE FAMILY COURT FOR THE THIRTEENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT, SEAT 3, TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM THAT EXPIRES JUNE 30, 2016; AND TO ELECT A SUCCESSOR TO A CERTAIN JUDGE OF THE FAMILY COURT FOR THE FOURTEENTH JUDICIAL CIRCUIT, SEAT 3, TO FILL THE UNEXPIRED TERM THAT EXPIRES JUNE 30, 2013, AND THE SUBSEQUENT FULL TERM THAT EXPIRES JUNE 30, 2019.

Amend Title To Conform

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the Senate and the House of Representatives shall meet in joint assembly in the Hall of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, at noon to elect a successor to the late Honorable Jamie Lee Murdock, judge of the family court for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, Seat 2, to fill the unexpired term that expires June 30, 2013, and the subsequent full term that expires June 30, 2019; to elect a successor to the Honorable Letitia H. Verdin, judge of the family court for the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit, Seat 3, to fill the unexpired term that expires June 30, 2016; to elect a successor to the Honorable Robert S. Armstrong, judge of the family court for the Fourteenth Judicial Circuit, Seat 3, to fill the unexpired term that expires June 30, 2013, and the subsequent full term that expires June 30, 2019.

Be it further resolved that all nominations must be made by the Chairman of the Judicial Merit Selection Commission, and that no further nominating or seconding speeches may be made by members of the General Assembly on behalf of any candidate.

Be it further resolved that immediately following the judicial elections held pursuant to this Concurrent Resolution, the Senate and the House of Representatives shall elect three members to fill vacancies or expired terms on the Legislative Audit Council pursuant to Section 2-15-10 from among the candidates nominated by the Legislative Audit Council Nominating Committee pursuant to Section 2-15-20.
