A BILL

TO AMEND THE CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, BY ADDING SECTION 53-3-190 SO AS TO ESTABLISH THE "STATE DAY OF PRAYER" AS THE FIRST THURSDAY IN MAY OF EACH YEAR.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

SECTION    1.    Chapter 3, Title 53 of the 1976 Code is amended by adding:

"Section 53-3-190.    The first Thursday in May of each year is designated as the 'State Day of Prayer'."

SECTION    2.    This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
