A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO COMMEND SALLEY B. DAVIDSON, DIRECTOR OF THE MARION COUNTY LIBRARY UPON HER RETIREMENT, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the General Assembly is pleased to learn that Salley B. Davidson will begin a much-deserved retirement after almost twenty years as Director of the Marion County Library; and

Whereas, a Spartanburg native, Salley Davidson was recruited to serve as the director of the library when the position became open in 1992; and

Whereas, under the leadership of Davidson and her caring and helpful staff, the Marion County Library has provided Marion County citizens with improved library-service programs for all age groups, state-of-the-art computer technologies, and improved access to a wide variety of informational materials; and

Whereas, she has consistently improved communication with a cross-section of community organizations to provide citizens with transparent access to services provided by these groups; and

Whereas, Salley Davidson has been a steadfast supporter of services to the children of Marion County; and

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly are grateful for the standard of excellence set by Salley Davidson during her years with the Marion County Library, and wish her many years of enjoyment in her well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, commend Salley B. Davidson, Director of the Marion County Library, upon her retirement, and wish her continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Salley B. Davidson.
