A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO REQUEST THAT THE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION NAME THE INTERSECTION LOCATED AT THE JUNCTURE OF ATLAS ROAD AND VETERANS ROAD IN RICHLAND COUNTY "HOWARD R. CAMPBELL INTERSECTION" AND ERECT APPROPRIATE MARKERS OR SIGNS AT THIS INTERSECTION THAT CONTAIN THE WORDS "HOWARD R. CAMPBELL INTERSECTION".

Whereas, Mr. Howard R. Campbell is a successful businessman who has owned and operated a successful heating, ventilation, and air conditioning company for more than sixty years; and

Whereas, he is a Master Fitter with the Richland County Board of Gas Examiners, a Master in Mechanical Trade with the City of Columbia, a Master Electrician with the Richland County Board of Electrical Examiners, and a Journeyman Gas Fitter with the City of Cayce Board of Gas Examiners; and

Whereas, he is an active member of the Christ the King Lutheran Church and unselfishly devotes his time and talents toward helping the members of his community; and

Whereas, he and his wife, Evelyn, are held in esteem throughout their community; and

Whereas, it would be fitting and proper to recognize Mr. Campbell's service to his community by naming a portion of a road in Richland County in his honor. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly request that the Department of Transportation name the intersection located at the juncture of Atlas Road and Veterans Road in Richland County "Howard R. Campbell Intersection" and erect appropriate markers or signs at this intersection that contain the words "Howard R. Campbell Intersection".

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Department of Transportation.
