AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 61-6-20, AS AMENDED, CODE OF LAWS OF SOUTH CAROLINA, 1976, RELATING TO DEFINITIONS IN THE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE CONTROL ACT, SO AS TO REVISE THE DEFINITION OF "FURNISHING LODGING" TO PROVIDE FOR AT LEAST EIGHTEEN INSTEAD OF TWENTY ROOMS THAT A BUSINESS MUST OFFER FOR ACCOMMODATIONS ON A REGULAR BASIS.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:
Definition revised
SECTION 1. Section 61-6-20(5) of the 1976 Code, as last amended by Act 67 of 2011, is further amended to read:
"(5) 'Furnishing lodging' means those businesses which rent accommodations for lodging to the public on a regular basis consisting of not less than eighteen rooms."
Time effective
SECTION 2. This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
