A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR RONALD F. SCHEBERLE, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE AMERICAN LEGISLATIVE EXCHANGE COUNCIL (ALEC), UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY YEARS OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina General Assembly appreciate the significant contributions that Ronald F. Scheberle has made to the nation through his work with ALEC on legislation impacting major business issues for the last thirty years; and

Whereas, while serving full time with the United States Capitol Police in Washington, D. C., from 1968 to 1973, Ronald Scheberle attended American University part time and earned a bachelor's degree in business administration; and

Whereas, after almost fifteen years of legislative work on the state and federal levels, Ronald Scheberle joined ALEC as a private sector member. From 1988 to 1994, he served as the chairman of the Private Enterprise Board and continued as a member of that board until 2010. Since 2010, he has served as the executive director of ALEC; and

Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly is grateful for the years of unparalleled dedication that Ronald Scheberle has devoted to ALEC and wish him many years of enjoyment in his well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, recognize and honor Ronald F. Scheberle, Executive Director of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), upon the occasion of his retirement after thirty years of exemplary service, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Ronald F. Scheberle.
