VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE ANDERSON CHRISTIAN SCHOOL UPON WINNING THE SOUTH CAROLINA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION 1A VARSITY GIRLS BASKETBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIP.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate were pleased to learn that Anderson Christian School (ACS) made history by winning their first South Carolina Independent School Association (SCISA) 1A State Championship against James Island Christian School in overtime with a final score of 47-43; and
Whereas, this is the first State Championship that ACS has won in any sport in the school's history and hopefully there will be many more to come; and
Whereas, finishing their season with a 26-3- record, the Lady Lions received tremendous support from numerous fans who made the trip to Sumter, S.C. to support the team; and
Whereas, the Lady Lions were ably led by Head Coach Cory Williams and Assistant Coach Leaha Hicks; and
Whereas, team members include Katlyn Von Ins, Charlie McCall, Sierra Elliott, Rachel Martin, Kauryn Gurley, Jessi Hall, Kaitlyn Hicks, Eaden Shockley, and Kassidy Moorhouse; and
Whereas, winning the championship is a great honor and accomplishment, and the Lady Lions' talent, enthusiasm, drive, dedication, and hard work are highly deserving of this recognition. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Anderson Christian School upon winning the South Carolina Independent Schools Association 1A Varsity Girls Basketball State Championship.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Anderson Christian School.
