A SENATE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE SR. BISHOP DR. O.D. FULTON ON A WELL-DESERVED RECOGNITION FROM THE BELIEVERS HOLINESS CHURCH CONFERENCE.

Whereas, the Believers Holiness Church Conference honored Presiding Sr. Bishop Dr. O.D. Fulton for his dedicated service to the citizens of Williamsburg County on May 3, 2014, at the Believers Holiness Church Conference First Annual Bishop's Award Banquet; and

Whereas, Bishop Fulton was born in Williamsburg County to the late John and Mary Fulton. He attended the public schools of Williamsburg County; and

Whereas, after he was called into the ministry he furthered his biblical education at Morris College's Theological Seminary in Sumter for two years; and

Whereas, he founded the Believers Bible Institute in Coward, South Carolina in 2000 and received an honorary doctorate from Christian Outreach Bible Institute in Fayetteville, North Carolina; and

Whereas, he later studied brick masonry and carpentry at the Vocational Center in Johnsonville. He became a carpenter by trade; and

Whereas, Bishop Fulton is a member of numerous social and fraternal organizations. He also serves on a number of civic and county boards in Williamsburg County; and

Whereas, Bishop Fulton's studies prepared him for his work in the ministry. He is the pastor of Greater St. John Believers Holiness Church in Scranton, where he has pastored since 1963. Since 2001, he has also served as pastor of Sandridge Believers Holiness Church; and

Whereas, Bishop Fulton served as presiding elder of the Believers Holiness Conference for eight years under the leadership of the late Presiding Bishop Norman B. Brown. He was installed as presiding senior bishop of the Believers Holiness Church Conference in 1998; and

Whereas, Bishop Fulton has also served as pastor of Frierson's Temple in Darlington and Tabernacle Believers Holiness Church in Riegelwood, North Carolina, where he served as pastor from 1968 to 1997; and

Whereas, Bishop Fulton married the late Minister Mary E. Graham Fulton and the two were blessed with five children: Mary Dell, Larry, Joseph, Priscilla, and the late Johnny Ray; and

Whereas, the members of the Senate find it fitting to honor Sr. Bishop Dr. O.D. Fulton for his many years of dedicated service in furtherance of the God's kingdom. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate:

That the Senate, by this resolution, congratulate Sr. Bishop Dr. O.D. Fulton on a well-deserved recognition from the Believers Holiness Church Conference.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Bishop Dr. O.D. Fulton.
