A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO HONOR AND CONGRATULATE CHARLOTTE MCHAFFIE LYNCH OF THE GREENVILLE COUNTY LEGISLATIVE DELEGATION UPON HER RETIREMENT AND TO WISH HER MUCH HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the General Assembly have learned that Charlotte McHaffie Lynch with the Greenville County Legislative Delegation is retiring; and

Whereas, Charlotte was born and raised in Greenville. She attended Greenville County schools and graduated from Greenville High School in 1959. After high school, she attended Winthrop College and graduated in 1963; and

Whereas, Charlotte is married to William "Bill" Lynch and together they have two sons; and

Whereas, Charlotte has worked for Greenville County for twenty-three years. She began serving as Executive Assistant to the County Administrator in 1992 and continued in that role for twenty years; and

Whereas, in 1995, Charlotte took on additional responsibilities working for with the Greenville County Legislative Delegation while maintaining her position as Executive Assistant to the County Administrator; and

Whereas, Charlotte has been an outstanding ambassador for Greenville County. At its inception in 1997, Charlotte was appointed to the South Carolina Judicial Merit Selection Commission's Upstate Citizens Committee on Judicial Qualifications by the South Carolina legislature; and

Whereas, she served on the Poinsett Bridge Beautification Committee (2002-2004) which led to the bridge being now on the National Historic American Engineering Records and the National Register of Historic Places; and

Whereas, in October 2008, she was presented an award from the South Carolina Foster Care Review Boards in appreciation for her years of commitment and service to the children of Greenville County; and

Whereas, at the request of the Honorable C. Victor Pyle, Jr., Charlotte served as chair on a committee to place historic photographs in the County Courthouse. She also served as a liaison to the Upstate Historic Preservation Committee for several years; and

Whereas, it is fitting and proper for the members of the General Assembly to pause in their deliberations to express the sincere appreciation to Charlotte Lynch for her dedicated service and the standard of excellence she has brought to our beloved State for twenty-three years. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the Senate, the House of Representatives concurring:

That the members of the General Assembly, by this resolution, honor and congratulate Charlotte McHaffie Lynch of the Greenville County Legislative Delegation upon her retirement and to wish her much happiness in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Charlotte Lynch.
