TO CONGRATULATE MELISSA MARSHALL AND ADRIAN WILKINS UPON BEING NAMED HOMECOMING QUEEN AND HOMECOMING KING AT FRANCIS MARION UNIVERSITY.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Adrian Wilkins, a senior from Moncks Corner, and Melissa Marshall, a sophomore from Darlington, were honored as king and queen of Francis Marion University's homecoming; and
Whereas, the ceremony took place in the Smith Center at the conclusion of Francis Marion's home basketball games against Georgia Regents University on Saturday, February 22, 2014; and
Whereas, nominated by student organizations on the campus of Francis Marion University, four candidates for king and nine candidates for queen constituted the homecoming court, and the king and queen were selected from the group of candidates by a vote of the student body; and
Whereas, Melissa Marshall, who is majoring in mass communications, represented the Young, Gifted and Blessed Gospel Choir, of which she is member; and
Whereas, AdrianWilkins is an English major and a member of the Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society, and he represented the Student Government Association on the Homecoming Court; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives applauds the selection of Adrian Wilkins and Melissa Marshall as Homecoming King and Queen at Francis Marion University. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Melissa Marshall and Adrian Wilkins upon being named Homecoming Queen and Homecoming King at Francis Marion University.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Melissa Marshall and Adrian Wilkins.
