The Senate assembled at 11:00 A.M., the hour to which it stood adjourned, and was called to order by the ACTING PRESIDENT, Senator CROMER.


On motion of Senator LOURIE, with unanimous consent, the Senate stood adjourned out of respect to the memory of Dr. Charles James of Columbia, S.C. Dr. James was a founder of Sandhills Pediatrics and Adolescent Clinic where he practiced until retirement in 1998. He was an active member in the medical community where he served on numerous boards. When not working, he enjoyed the outdoors and watching his children's and grandchildren's sporting activities. Dr. James was a lifetime member of Trinity Cathedral. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, physician and friend.


At 11:04 A.M., on motion of Senator JACKSON, the Senate adjourned to meet next Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at 12:00 Noon.
