A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE MRS. MINNIE GREEN ROSIER HALLMAN OF BARNWELL COUNTY ON THE OCCASION OF HER ONE HUNDREDTH BIRTHDAY AND TO WISH HER MUCH HAPPINESS IN THE DAYS AHEAD.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are delighted to learn that Mrs. Minnie Green Rosier Hallman of Barnwell celebrated her one hundredth birthday on August 19, 2015; and

Whereas, born to William F. and Minnie F. Green of Aiken County, the young Minnie came into this world on August 19, 1915, when the twentieth century was still in its youth, and she has been witness to nearly all the incredible changes and developments that have come to this nation from that time into the second decade of the twenty-first century. As she grew up, Minnie received her education in the Aiken County schools; and

Whereas, in December 1928, she wed her beloved Lonnie Rosier, the Lord blessing their union with three daughters and a son. After Lonnie passed away in 1946, Minnie moved to Barnwell, where she has had a residence since 1947. Once again, she married a good man, Horace Hallman, and the couple had the joy of forty-nine years together before Horace passed away in 1996; and

Whereas, known as a fabulous cook, Minnie prepared Sunday dinner for her family every week for decades until just a few years ago. This homemaker par excellence also worked at Barnwell's Milliken Mills, from which she retired in 1979; and

Whereas, as a woman of faith, Minnie joined Barnwell First Baptist Church in 1946 and has served her God there actively; and

Whereas, when those who know her think of Minnie Hallman, they immediately call to mind the sweetness of her character. Her eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren love Minnie for her kindness and the smile she always wears; and

Whereas, Minnie Green Rosier Hallman's life has been inspirational, not only to her family but also to many others. She truly has lived out her Christian faith, and all whose lives she has touched feel blessed to count her their friend; and

Whereas, the House of Representatives is proud to honor this truly lovely lady at the celebration of her one hundredth birthday, and the members join with her family and friends in congratulating her on reaching this extraordinary milestone. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Mrs. Minnie Green Rosier Hallman of Barnwell County on the occasion of her one hundredth birthday and wish her much happiness in the days ahead.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Mrs. Minnie Green Rosier Hallman.
