A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR MYRA A. MOSELEY, A TEACHER AT MIDLAND VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL, UPON THE OCCASION OF HER RETIREMENT AFTER THIRTY-FIVE YEARS OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE, AND TO WISH HER CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HER FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina should pause in their deliberations to express their gratitude to Myra A. Moseley for her significant contributions to education in Aiken County; and

Whereas, she began her career as an educator as a teacher's aide in the Migrant Programs through the Aiken County Public School District briefly in 1978 and then served as a Title 1 tutor in Aiken County Schools in the first half of 1979; and

Whereas, in 1980, Ms. Moseley earned a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of South Carolina Aiken, and the following year, she earned a certificate in secondary education from the same; and

Whereas, she was hired at Midland Valley High School in 1981 and has spent her entire career as an educator teaching history and United States government at this school; and

Whereas, Ms. Moseley worked with students on the school's student council for a number of years and served to promote student participation in civic affairs; and

Whereas, active with the Red Cross Shepeard Community Blood Center, she organized annual blood drives at Midland Valley High School, and she served as the faculty chair responsible for school proms, maintaining a reputation for choosing bands that delighted the students; and

Whereas, she plans to spend many happy hours of retirement at her condominium, enjoying the relaxation so conducive to life on the South Carolina coast; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is grateful for the years of unparalleled dedication that Myra Moseley has devoted to teaching students to become productive and engaged citizens, and the members wish her many years of enjoyment in her well-earned retirement. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the House of Representatives of the State of South Carolina, by this resolution, recognize and honor Myra A. Moseley, a teacher at Midland Valley High School, upon the occasion of her retirement after thirty-five years of exemplary service, and wish her continued success and happiness in all her future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Myra A. Moseley.
