The House assembled at 10:00 a.m.
Deliberations were opened with prayer by Rev. Charles E. Seastrunk, Jr., as follows:

Our thought for today is from Genesis 6:9: "Noah walked with God."
Let us pray. Gracious God, give these Representatives and staff faith to hold them steady and sure when the floods in their lives threaten to overwhelm them. For those besieged with doubts, give them strength and hope for their lives. For Your blessings, we give You thanks. Provide for them every needful thing as they continue their duties started here. Bless our Nation, President, State, Governor, Speaker, staff, and all who labor in these Halls of Government. Protect our defenders of freedom, at home and abroad, as they protect us. Heal the wounds, those seen and those hidden, of our brave warriors. Lord, in Your mercy, hear our prayer. Amen.

Pursuant to Rule 6.3, the House of Representatives was led in the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America by the SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE.

After corrections to the Journal of the proceedings of yesterday, the SPEAKER PRO TEMPORE ordered it confirmed.

MOTION ADOPTED

Rep. G. M. SMITH moved that when the House adjourns, it adjourn in memory of Captain William "Pyro" Dubois, F-16 fighter pilot supporting Operation Inherent Freedom assigned to the 77th Fighter Squadron at Shaw Air Force Base, which was agreed to.

SILENT PRAYER

The House stood in silent prayer for Captain William "Pyro" Dubois.
