TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR EDWARDS PRINTING, LLC IN WESTMINSTER FOR CONSISTENTLY EMPLOYING THOSE WITH DISABILITIES AND TO CONGRATULATE THEM ON BEING NAMED "MEDIUM EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR" BY THE GOVERNOR'S COMMITTEE ON EMPLOYMENT OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES.
Whereas, the South Carolina Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities recently honored Edwards Printing, LLC by bestowing on them the honor of "Medium Employer of the Year"; and
Whereas, the award, which results from nominations from throughout the state, recognizes an organization that has exemplary practices in hiring people with disabilities, making worksite accommodations and actively promoting disability awareness and workforce opportunities in the business community; and
Whereas, Edwards Printing, which prints and distributes newspapers both within and outside the Westminster area, has regularly hired employees with disabilities for full-time positions through its partnership with the South Carolina Vocational Rehabilitation Department; and
Whereas, Edwards Printing's management is proactive in seeking qualified job candidates with disabilities, visiting the local Vocational Rehabilitation office to talk with clients and hosting tours of the printing facilities; and
Whereas, the company seeks to address any barriers clients may have in attaining and maintaining employment success; and
Whereas, it is with great pleasure that the members of the Senate recognize and honor Edwards Printing for its outstanding work in caring for those with disabilities by providing employment opportunities. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the Senate, by this resolution, recognize and honor Edwards Printing, LLC in Westminster for consistently employing those with disabilities and congratulate them on being named "Medium Employer of the Year" by the Governor's Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to Edwards Printing, LLC.
