TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR TOM DUDLEY UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE ANDERSON COUNTY TRANSPORTATION COMMITTEE AFTER YEARS OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, it is altogether fitting and proper that the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives should pause in their deliberations to express their gratitude to Tom Dudley, a charter member of the Anderson County Transportation Committee, for his dedication and significant contributions to the committee and the people of this State; and
Whereas, as a member and officer of the Anderson County Transportation Committee, Mr. Dudley acted as a careful steward of public funds, contributing his wisdom and judgement to provide the citizens of Anderson County with the best and safest county roads, bridges, and sidewalks. His commitment to creating a safer Anderson County also is reflected in his previous service as a board member of the Iva Rescue Squad; and
Whereas, a businessman as well as a public servant, Mr. Dudley owns two convenient stores, and is the former owner of Dud's Restaurant in Iva; and
Whereas, despite his accomplishments as a public servant and businessman, Mr. Dudley takes his greatest pride in his two fine sons, which he reared with his loving wife, the late Carol Dudley; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are grateful for the years of unparalleled dedication that Tom Dudley has devoted to the Anderson County Transportation Committee and creating a safer Anderson County, and wish him many years of enjoyment in his richly-deserved retirement from the committee, which he began on December 31, 2015. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Tom Dudley upon the occasion of his retirement from the Anderson County Transportation Committee after years of exemplary service, and to wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Tom Dudley.
