VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO CONGRATULATE SENIOR SOLUTIONS OF ANDERSON AND OCONEE COUNTIES UPON THE OCCASION OF ITS FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY AND TO COMMEND IT FOR ITS MANY YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE SENIORS OF THIS STATE.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are pleased to learn that SENIOR Solutions will celebrate its fiftieth anniversary on Friday, May 18, 2018; and
Whereas, SENIOR Solutions has improved the lives of Upstate seniors since 1968. With humble beginnings as a dining and socialization site, SENIOR Solutions has grown into a thriving non-profit organization, providing a proven balance of care, activity, and education that allows seniors to continue to grow in their later years and to lead independent lives in their own homes and communities; and
Whereas, as the first choice of seniors in the Upstate, SENIOR Solutions provides services to seniors from all walks of life, with all levels of activity and health and with many degrees of need. The organization provides an array of services that promote the physical, mental, and spiritual well-being of seniors, including adult day care, transportation, home-delivered meals, group dining, home care services, insurance services, assisted living, senior access, and senior centers; and
Whereas, with over sixty vehicles, SENIOR Solutions provides seniors across the Upstate with access to transportation for medical appointments and daily errands, such as trips to the grocery store, pharmacy, or hair salon. The centers also offer day trips throughout the year to places like the Biltmore Estate, the World of Coca-Cola, Harrah's Cherokee Casino, and Atlanta Braves games; and
Whereas, the organization's senior centers also offer seniors a place to socialize and stay active, with fitness centers and regularly-scheduled exercise classes; social events like fashion shows, holiday parties, and other activities; and educational classes on subjects like sign language, technology, and nutrition; and
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina Senate are grateful for the dedication and commitment that SENIOR Solutions has shown in serving the people and the State of South Carolina. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the Senate:
That the members of the South Carolina Senate, by this resolution, congratulate SENIOR Solutions of Anderson and Oconee Counties upon the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary and commend it for its many years of dedicated service to the seniors of this State.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to SENIOR Solutions.
