A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO CONGRATULATE BRYAN EDDINGS OF CHARLESTON COUNTY ON CAPTURING THE SILVER MEDAL AT THE 2017 ABC NATIONAL CRAFT CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives notes with pride that one of the Palmetto State's own, Bryan Eddings of Charleston County, took home the silver medal from the 2017 ABC National Craft Championships, held February 28-March 3, 2017, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and

Whereas, Bryan, with Gatch Electrical in Charleston, brought with him to Fort Lauderdale a first-place finish in his local competition and placed second in the residential/commercial competition at the national level. The national competition was an intense event consisting of written and practical hands-on exams. On his arrival at the nationals this year, Bryan took his place among nearly one hundred seventy craft professionals from twenty-eight states competing for top honors in thirteen competitions across eleven crafts. He owns the distinction of being only the second person in South Carolina to place in the National Craft Championships in any category; and

Whereas, a 1993 Camden High School graduate, Bryan is a fourth-year apprentice in the Charleston Electrical Contractors Association's nationally registered electrical apprenticeship program. He will be graduating this year; and

Whereas, inaugurated in 1987, the National Craft Championships are conducted by the national-level Associated Builders and Contractors, of which the Charleston Electrical Contractors Association (CECA) is an affiliate through the ABC Carolina Chapter. CECA articulates its electrical apprenticeship with Trident Technical College for advanced standing in its electrical program; and

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives are pleased to pause in their deliberations to salute Bryan Eddings on winning this coveted craft award. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, congratulate Bryan Eddings of Charleston County on capturing the silver medal at the 2017 ABC National Craft Championships.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Bryan Eddings.
