VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR DORMAN HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLER JOSHUA AQUINO FOR A REMARKABLE SEASON AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR WINNING THE 2017 SOUTH CAROLINA CLASS AAAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP WRESTLING TITLE IN THE 120-POUND WEIGHT CLASS.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Joshua Aquino, a senior at Dorman High School in Spartanburg County, took top honors at the state competition; and
Whereas, defeating every opponent, he accumulated a perfect 47-0 record and was named the Class AAAAA Wrestler of the Year; and
Whereas, Joshua Aquino received the Most Outstanding Wrestler Award twice: once after winning the Spartanburg County Championship and then after taking the Region Championship; and
Whereas, when he grappled for the Upper State Championship, he secured a place at the state meet where he took the Class AAAAA title in the 120-pound weight class and was honored as a North/South All-Star; and
Whereas, in a sport that demands mental fortitude and individual excellence, he capitalized on his passion and athletic talent to hone his wrestling skill and become a champion, and he learned lessons that will prove invaluable through life both on and off the mats; and
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the pride and recognition that Joshua Aquino has brought to his school and his community, and the members look to hear of his continued accomplishments in the days to come. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Dorman High School wrestler Joshua Aquino for a remarkable season and congratulate him for winning the 2017 South Carolina Class AAAAA State Championship wrestling title in the 120-pound weight class.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Joshua Aquino.
