VERSIONS OF THIS BILL
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR GEORGETOWN MIDDLE SCHOOL OF GEORGETOWN COUNTY FOR ITS COMMENDABLE STANDARDS IN EDUCATION AND TO CONGRATULATE THE STUDENTS, PARENTS, FACULTY, STAFF, AND ADMINISTRATION ON THE SCHOOL'S VARIOUS AWARDS FOR THE 2016-2017 SCHOOL YEAR.
Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is pleased to learn that Georgetown Middle School has accomplished many of its goals for the year and has received several awards in recognition of those successes; and
Whereas, Georgetown Middle won a Palmetto's Finest Silver Award for closing the achievement gap, was named a Beta Club National School of Distinction, had a social studies teacher named Coastal Carolina Student of the Year in Educational Leadership, and was named 2016-2017 Academic Fair champion. The school also participated in the Creative Arts Program in South Carolina, received a talent and superior rating for its band, and saw its B-team boys basketball team finish as co-champions; and
Whereas, fully expecting continued excellence from this standout school, Representative Carl Anderson of House District 103 takes great pleasure in recognizing the fine educational achievements of Georgetown Middle School for the 2016-2017 school year at the ceremony he is sponsoring in Georgetown on May 4, 2017. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Georgetown Middle School of Georgetown County for its commendable standards in education and congratulate the students, parents, faculty, staff, and administration on the school's various awards for the 2016-2017 school year.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to representatives of Georgetown Middle School.
