A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION

TO HONOR CHAUDRON ZEGER OF COLUMBIA FOR HER DEDICATION TO ADVOCACY ON BEHALF OF CHILDREN IN SOUTH CAROLINA AND AROUND THE WORLD AND TO CONGRATULATE HER ON BEING NAMED 2018 NATIONAL ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR BY SAVE THE CHILDREN ACTION NETWORK.

Whereas, during the 2018 Advocacy Summit hosted by Save the Children and Save the Children Action Network in Washington, D.C., Chaudron Zeger of Columbia attained considerable distinction when she was presented with Save the Children Action Network's 2018 National Advocate of the Year Award; and

Whereas, Chaudron was selected for the 2018 National Advocate of the Year Award in light of her numerous contributions to Save the Children Action Network's advocacy work on behalf of children; and

Whereas, this dedicated advocate serves as legislative lead for Save the Children Action Network's Community Action Team in Columbia, for which she coordinates legislative efforts and leads community engagement on behalf of children; and

Whereas, previously, Chaudron was a Save the Children Action Network student ambassador at the University of South Carolina, and she has served in a leadership role for more than three years, coordinating efforts such as raising the profile of children's issues during previous presidential campaign events and primaries; and

Whereas, the National Advocate of the Year Award is presented to one individual annually to recognize and appreciate publicly an exceptional volunteer who demonstrates leadership and inspires his or her community to advocate for children; and

Whereas, Save the Children Action Network has over two hundred thirty thousand supporters nationwide, including more than five thousand in South Carolina, who build bipartisan will and voter support to make sure that every child in the United States has access to high-quality early education and that no mother or child around the globe dies from a preventable disease or illness; and

Whereas, Save the Children Action Network has a strong presence in South Carolina, with a volunteer leadership network in Charleston, Columbia, and Greenville engaging parents, teachers, medical professionals, faith leaders, and local business leaders passionate about children's issues; and

Whereas, the South Carolina General Assembly takes great pleasure in applauding Chaudron Zeger on this well-deserved accolade, her selection as 2018 National Advocate of the Year by Save the Children Action Network, and the members extend best wishes for her continued personal and leadership success in the years to come. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives, the Senate concurring:

That the members of the South Carolina General Assembly, by this resolution, honor Chaudron Zeger of Columbia for her dedication to advocacy on behalf of children in South Carolina and around the world and congratulate her on being named 2018 National Advocate of the Year by Save the Children Action Network.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Chaudron Zeger.
