A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR KEITH COX, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF THE SOUTH CAROLINA FUTURE FARMERS OF AMERICA ASSOCIATION, UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT AFTER FOURTEEN YEARS OF EXEMPLARY SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND HAPPINESS IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.

Whereas, the members of the House of Representatives have learned that Keith Cox will begin a well-deserved retirement after fourteen years as the distinguished and highly-regarded executive director of the South Carolina Future Farmers of America (FFA) Association; and

Whereas, for eighteen years, Mr. Cox taught agriculture at Latta High School, and he was a charter member of the South Carolina Advocates for Agriculture Committee and served as a state officer for the South Carolina FFA Association; and

Whereas, invaluable to the growth and development of the South Carolina FFA Association, he has served as its executive director since 2004; and

Whereas, under Mr. Cox's leadership, the state's FFA Association has reached a forty-year high in membership, has developed programs to ensure personal growth and career success for thousands of FFA members, and has seen a South Carolinian elected as a national FFA officer, the first time in forty-nine years; and

Whereas, Mr. Cox has demonstrated vital support for agriculture in the Palmetto State, and his outstanding leadership was recognized nationally when he was elected to serve on the National FFA Board of Directors; and

Whereas, with demonstrated leadership for raising funds both on the state and national level, Mr. Cox was elected to serve on the National FFA Foundation Board of Directors as well: and

Whereas, devoted to serving his local community, he holds membership in numerous local civic organizations and is a faithful and active member of the Dillon Church of God; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives is grateful for the lifelong dedication of Keith Cox to agricultural education in our great State and to the South Carolina FFA Association, and the members wish him many years of enjoyment as he begins his well-earned retirement on June 30, 2018. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Keith Cox, executive director of the South Carolina Future Farmers of America Association, upon the occasion of his retirement after fourteen years of exemplary service, and wish him continued success and happiness in all his future endeavors.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Keith Cox.
