A HOUSE RESOLUTION

TO RECOGNIZE AND HONOR ROSS F. LORDO OF YORK COUNTY AND TO CONGRATULATE HIM FOR BEING ELECTED PRESIDENT OF THE STUDENT BODY OF THE UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA.

Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives are pleased to learn that Ross F. Lordo has been elected as the one hundred ninth president to serve the student body at the University of South Carolina (USC); and

Whereas, the son of Ron and Leanne Lordo, he is a rising senior in the South Carolina Honors College, majoring in public health and minoring in business administration; and

Whereas, Mr. Lordo, a native of the Palmetto State, graduated from Fort Mill High School in 2014 and was the recipient of the Jessica Horton Outstanding Freshman Award his first year at USC; and

Whereas, he has served USC on the Freshman Council, as president pro tempore of the Student Senate, and most recently as the student body vice president; and

Whereas, as the president of the student body, Mr. Lordo plans to advocate actively for the USC student body initiatives, not only before the USC Board of Trustees, but also before the South Carolina General Assembly; and

Whereas, the South Carolina House of Representatives appreciates the significant work before Ross Lordo, and the members wish him every success as he embraces the challenges while serving as student body president at USC in the coming year. Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honor Ross F. Lordo of York County and congratulate him for being elected president of the student body of the University of South Carolina.

Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be presented to Ross F. Lordo.
