A bill

 

TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY AMENDING SECTION 16-7-140, RELATING TO PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF SECTIONS 16-7-110 AND 16-7-120, SO AS TO REMOVE THE REFERENCE TO THE REPEALED SECTION 16-7-110; BY REPEALING SECTION 16-7-110 RELATING TO WEARING MASKS AND THE LIKE; AND BY REPEALING SECTION 16-7-130 RELATING TO EXCEPTIONS TO SECTIONS 16-7-110 AND 16-7-120.

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

 

SECTION 1.  Section 16-7-140 of the S.C. Code is amended to read:

 

    Section 16-7-140.  A person who violates any provision of Sections 16-7-110 and Section 16-7-120 is guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, must be punished by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars or by imprisonment for a period not to exceed twelve months.

 

SECTION 2.  Sections 16-7-110 and 16-7-130 of the S.C. Code are repealed.

 

SECTION 3.  This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
