A bill

 

TO AMEND THE SOUTH CAROLINA CODE OF LAWS BY ADDING SECTION 27-40-350 SO AS TO PROHIBIT A LANDLORD FROM TAKING CERTAIN PHOTOGRAPHS OF A TENANT'S PERSONAL BELONGINGS.

 

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of South Carolina:

 

SECTION 1.  Article 1, Subarticle IV, Chapter 40, Title 27 of the S.C. Code is amended by adding:

 

    Section 27-40-350. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, a landlord is prohibited from taking photographs of a tenant's personal belongings while in the rental property without the tenant's express permission.

 

SECTION 2.  This act takes effect upon approval by the Governor.
